Glitch Productions – Bringing Animation Global with Dubbing

About the Client:
Glitch Productions is an independent Australian animation studio founded in 2017, best known for its viral 3D animated web series, including the sci-fi horror comedy Murder Drones and the surreal dark comedy The Amazing Digital Circus. Both series premiered on YouTube, where they quickly became breakout hits in the animation community. Murder Drones has amassed over 320 million views since its debut, while the Amazing Digital Circus pilot became the most-viewed animated web pilot in YouTube history, reaching 100 million views in under a month and surpassing 380 million views by 2025. This unprecedented online success brought Glitch into the mainstream, with Netflix licensing The Amazing Digital Circus in 2024 and Amazon Prime Video licensing Murder Drones in 2025. Today, Glitch is celebrated as a rising star in indie animation, recognized for its award-winning, genre-blending work that combines cinematic production quality with indie creativity and has successfully leapt from YouTube to global streaming platforms.

Challenge and Approach:
Originally Murder Drones was released solely in English and the series amassed a passionate fanbase in its original English, but Glitch wanted to broaden the show’s international reach after its release. They approached BeMultilingual to dub Murder Drones Season 1 into new languages, aiming to engage non-English speaking audiences worldwide. By 2023, Murder Drones was available in nearly twenty languages , including Arabic, Filipino, French, German, Hindi, Hungarian, Indonesian, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Mandarin Chinese, Persian, Polish, Portuguese, Russian, Spanish, Thai, Turkish, Ukrainian, Urdu, and Vietnamese, significantly expanding its global audience of which BeMultilingual provided German and Urdu.
Glitch’s next challenge came with a brand-new series, The Amazing Digital Circus. This time, the goal was even more ambitious: release the pilot simultaneously in multiple languages from day one. Having seen Murder Drones’ post-launch dubbing success, Glitch wanted The Amazing Digital Circus (TADC) to debut as a truly global phenomenon. The challenge for BeMultilingual was to coordinate and produce the dubs ahead of the pilot’s release, so that international viewers could watch in their native language immediately, a strategy rarely attempted at such an early stage for an indie animated web series.
The Amazing Digital Circus pilot ultimately premiered with an unprecedented multi-language release. From day one, the episode was available in over eight languages alongside English, with additional dubs rolled out in the weeks that followed. This approach allowed audiences across Europe, Asia, Latin America, and beyond to enjoy the show immediately in their own language. By removing linguistic and cultural barriers through dubbing, Glitch unlocked a truly global audience. As a result, the pilot was not confined to English-speaking fans, it was positioned from the start to go viral on an international scale.
Results:
The multilingual launch strategy paid off massively. The Amazing Digital Circus pilot went viral worldwide, achieving over 100 million views in its first 30 days on YouTube. By comparison, Murder Drones – which added dubs later in its run – also saw substantial growth; the series accumulated 320+ million views across 8 episodes as of 2025, underlining the strong ongoing demand from international fans once dubs became available.
“The team at BeMultilingual have been extremely professional and provided great translation services that boosted our video’s performance.” – Glitch Productions
This explosive global reception translated into concrete achievements for Glitch Productions:
Major Viewership Milestones: TADC’s pilot garnered 100M+ views in 30 days, far exceeding typical indie animation performance. Murder Drones likewise maintained tens of millions of views per episode, with its finale earning significant fan engagement worldwide.
Awards & Recognition: Murder Drones went on to win a 2024 Webby Award for Best Animated Video in 2024, reflecting its online popularity. Likewise, The Amazing Digital Circus pilot won the Best Web Animation of 2024 award at the Moonie Awards. These accolades underscore how multilingual accessibility broadened each show’s impact and critical notice.
Global Distribution Deals: The success of these series attracted partnerships with major streaming platforms. In late 2024, Netflix acquired non-exclusive rights to The Amazing Digital Circus, adding the show (with its dubs) to Netflix’s global library. The series quickly hit the Netflix Top 10 in multiple countries upon release. Murder Drones, after its finale on YouTube, was licensed by Amazon Prime Video in 2025, bringing the English and dubbed episodes to an even wider international audience. These distribution deals with Netflix and Prime Video were direct outcomes of the massive online viewership and fandom that the YouTube multilingual strategy had generated.
Franchise Growth: With their worldwide popularity, both properties have expanded beyond YouTube. Glitch secured merchandising deals (e.g. Hot Topic retail and collector figure partnerships), and even spinoff media like an upcoming Murder Drones graphic novel. The robust global fan communities – bolstered by viewers who discovered the shows through dubs – continue to drive demand for content and products, validating multilingual dubbing as a growth catalyst.

In summary, through its partnership with BeMultilingual, Glitch Productions successfully transformed two YouTube-born series into global entertainment properties. By localizing Murder Drones and The Amazing Digital Circus into German and Urdu, we helped Glitch remove language barriers, expand international accessibility, and position both shows for massive success on platforms like Netflix and Amazon Prime Video.
This collaboration not only drove record-breaking viewership but also contributed to industry recognition, franchise growth, and long-term distribution opportunities. Building on this momentum, Glitch has once again chosen BeMultilingual for its latest project, The Gaslight District pilot, for which we provided dubs in German, Italian, Korean, Polish, Turkish, and Urdu.
